Figuring Out Life Together
Sigh
February 28, 2006 on 3:47 pm | In Uncategorized | No Commentshttp://www.pakistani.org/pakistan/constitution/
The Pakistani consitution makes me cry. Rights which are considered undeniable in Canada are subject to bias and loopholes there.
Such as the following:
"Every citizen shall have the right to assemble peacefully and without
arms, subject to any reason able restrictions imposed by law in the
interest of Public order."
This situation lends too much power to anyone, from policemen (deciding that it is not in the interest of public order) to magistrates who can simply ignore precedents (if any are clearly established in any case).
IANAL, obviously, but I believe I am intreperting the situation clearly.
